So today is a good day for me aaaaaand you! For me because we have some awesome visitors coming today to play for a week! Woohooooooo!!! For you, because I have two awesome awesome tips for you.
Tip 1: I was playing with my makeup for an event I was going to, and stumbled upon the trick of all tricks... I will name it the "Technicolour Dream Eyeliner Technique". Wholly Santa Shiz, I can't believe I hadn't thought of this before! I wanna get right to it because it's opened up a world of ideas and options for eye makeup. For this technique to work it's very important to start with an eyeliner that's soft, and smudges easily, otherwise you won't get the true effect. My absolute favourite is Stila's Kajal Eyeliner in Onyx... It's breathtaking, easy to use, has great pigment, and is perfect for this technicolour technique, not to mention one of my favourites for doing the inner rim eyeliner. It's not exactly rocket science, however, somehow this technique has alluded me for so many years... Here she is:
Start by lining your top lash line (It doesn't have to be perfect at this point, just get some pigment on there, and some product to work with). Next take the colour of your choice (like a shimmery green - which I've done a video for and is currently in the editing process... As a teaser it's called non-80's-pornstar green eye makeup tutorial, so get ready - or a pretty purple, or a vibrant blue... Even a luscious brown; the options are endless) and blend it along your lash line creating a deep and pigment-rich eyeliner. The black eyeliner acts as a bonding agent for the shadow, and melds together with the shadow so you can fake a liner that has major staying power, and a fantastic effect!!
I'm so stoked on this technique because although I've always been a fan of using shadow with an angled brush as an eyelining technique, the colour was never rich enough for me, and it tended to wear off (great for more natural looks though!)... The Technicolour technique eliminates this issue, and with a little colour wheel knowledge, you can create endless shades!! Some of my favourites thus far are:
Dark brown eyeliner + Shimmery purple = Delicious deep maroon
Black eyeliner + Vibrant blue = Gorgeous royal blue/Navy
Black eyeliner + Shimmery Green = Sexy smokey dark green
Black eyeliner + Copper shimmery shadow = Flaming hot deep gold
Okay okay okay... I have a billion things to do, but before I get to it, I have to share my 2nd tip I have for you!!!! Are you a fan of rice pudding? If not, have a good day and try some eyeliner techniques (i.e. beat it)! If yes, I have a low-cal, quick solution for you! I always have leftover rice around (I'm actually obsessed with rice and soy sauce - Sooooo delicious), and this morning I needed a second breakfast (you know what I mean... when you're starving an hour after eating? Kinda annoying), and in my rummaging through the fridge I found my go to: Rice! But it was only 9am, and I didn't want salty yet, so I decided to try an experiment... I heated up the rice in the microwave with a couple of Tablespoons of milk. Then I took it out, piping hot, added a couple of Tablespoons of Greek Yogurt (OMG so good) a pinch of cinnamon, and a lil' splenda. I mixed it around until everything was blended, and was delighted with the result!!! It is going to be my new snack as of now. I had white rice, but I'm sure it would work with brown rice as well... The Greek Yogurt is super high in protein, Cinnamon has a million health benefits and tastes amazeballs, and Rice loves me! What else could a girl ask for?!
Squeeee!!! I'm a lil' hyper stoking on my sister-from-another-mother (seriously, it's uncanny.... Dad do you have something to tell me? I have a couple of these...) to come here and by pseudo brother as well (said faux-sister's husband).
Editing of video almost complete, just think of 80's porn for some ideas of what the makeup will NOT look like.
